Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

If you are looking to experience our pristine snowy landscapes: strap on snowshoes or Nordic skis and explore the winter wonderland of snow around the San Juan Mountains. The Pagosa Nordic Club maintains the 50km of groomed trails for all to use freely. Families and novice skiers begin on the Reservoir Hill Nordic Trails, while more advanced skiers take to the Coyote Hill Nordic Loops. Snowshoers may share these trails with skiers, as long as they stay clear of the skiing lane.

Downhill skiing and Snowmobiling

Some of Colorado’s best skiing and snowboarding is located just a few short miles from our High Country Lodge. Guests and locals all flock to Wolf Creek Ski Resort the most snow in Colorado, with an early start this year.  Wolf Creek ski area is famous for its relaxed vibe, excellent hike-to terrain, snowcat shuttle, at an affordable cost for a fun family getaway. Fewer crowds, no-lines and seven chairlifts spread across thousands of acres make for the perfect destination for powder hounds of all levels.

For a winter tubing experience, check out High Country Lodge Tubing Park’s four tubing lanes Wednesday through Sunday, for an affordable, fun-filled day the whole family can enjoy.
