Fishing in Pagosa Springs Colorado!
The San Juan River in Pagosa Springs Colorado is continually stocked throughout the summer providing outstanding trout fishing. In recent years, the community has developed river enhancements to produce more fish habitats. For the largest trout make sure to fish the downtown area! The West branch of the San Juan River also has good rainbow trout fishing. From cutthroat trout fishing available, hike upstream from the trailhead at the end of the road for better fishing. The East Fork Canyon offers excellent rainbow and brown trout fishing on lower ranges; brook and cutthroat trout at higher elevations.
Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo
Join in on the annual three-day Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo at the Western Heritage arena, featuring cowboys and cowgirls from different states competing for prizes and prize money in this sanctioned rodeo series. Mutton Bustin’, cow milking contest, specialty acts and other fun events. Mutton Bustin’ will test kids’ strength and endurance by riding a sheep as long as they can hold on. Each participant will leave the arena with a special award, and the overall daily winner will take home an authentic rodeo belt buckle. The rodeo lasts about two and a half hours, at the Western Heritage Event Center Arena & Grounds. Of all the ways to celebrate the fourth, we can’t think of anything better than spending the holiday with our community, friends, and family!
